Happy weekend!  In honor of the sunny skies here in Austin, I wanted to share this colorful, floral look.  I found this bright and cheery top at a random boutique and loved the color and low back.  It paired perfectly with my staple white jeans and sky high (but super comfy) wedges.  I found this Kate Spade bag about a year ago and I absolutely love it.  The vivid pink color makes a fun statement and the structure and size allows room for practically anything you’d like to carry.  I found this modern day Heidi hairstyle on Camille Styles months ago, and it’s my go-to when I want a quick braided look.

If you can’t already tell, I’m a huge fan of the t-shirt trend.  Even when paired with wedges or heels, there’s something so freeing about wearing a cozy tee.  I especially love this one I found at Brandy Melville in a demure blue color.  It’s so affordable and ridiculously comfortable.  Most of their clothing is one size fits all, so the material can stretch and mold the way that best fits you. Add a gorgy statement necklace like this one from Kendra Scott and some fun tribal shorts and you’re ready for a stroll to your fave coffee spot (like at Austin’s East Side gem, Cenote).

Austin is home to so many whimsical, beautiful wall murals.  The vivid color and patterns in this one reminded me of a Dr. Seuss illustration, which I thought was appropriate for this fun, colorful look.  I fell in love with this pink crop top from Nasty Gal.  I wore it with a pink cami underneath and with these cropped pants for work, but it will be fun to pair with high waisted denim for summer.  Happy weekend!

Color is a major part of my wardrobe.  I even have my clothes organized by color in my closet.  With a kaleidoscopic closet, neutral basics like this Zara crop top are essential.  I bought it a little over a year ago and have worn it several times. I’m also a fan of neons right now and love the electric pop of color this Kendra Scott necklace and Pixi nail polish adds.

Good morning! There’s something so exciting about refurbishing furniture. When I graduated college and decided I no longer needed this black desk from Ikea, it was placed by my door to be thrown away. But as a new pinner, I had a last minute idea. Convert the desk into something I needed – a vanity!  Gone were the days of oversized sorority tees, nike shorts, ponytails and no makeup. I had a job in fashion, so I needed a place to get ready each morning. $40 and a trip to Home Depot later, and I was equipped for my fIrst furniture DIY.  I absolutely love light blue-green hues, so choosing a paint color was easy – I went with BEHR’s “Balmy Seas”.  In a small apartment, this desk-turned-vanity has been used daily and served as an essential space saver, storing my makeup, excessive jewelry collection and more. It’s also been fun to decorate. I snuck a bit of a Disney Cinderella theme with framed art from the movie and this pretty coffee cup to stow my makeup brushes. You can also see a peek of my wall collage, which features more framed art, like this custom illustration by Carrie Beth Taylor featuring Kendra Scott Earrings – a constant reminder that there’s nothing a tip bun and sunnies can’t fix.  Stay tuned for more details on my room.

This was a look I wore last weekend in Brownwood after my parent’s vow renewals.  The camouflage button up was actually spotted by my boyfriend on a shopping trip I dragged him along to.  I tried it on and while I probably won’t be wearing it on a hunting excursion (as he’d hoped) I actually have gotten a lot of use out of it so far.  I love mixing patterns, but it’s hard to find separate patterns that don’t clash or look too busy.  Camouflage and stripes are complimentary (just ask the Army), and I love the prepster-meets-rebel look it creates.  I found these high-waisted, acid wash shorts at Zara last summer and I have worn the heck out of them.  They are so comfy and have a vintage look to them.

I love the tropical take on the spring floral trend.  I found these for a steal at Forever 21 and have worn them much more often than I’d thought.  I especially love dressing them up with heels and statement accessories, like this darling monogram clutch.  I got it over a year ago from Marley Lilly, but they are still sold there in a variety of fun colors and variations for the monogram.

There’s something about a t-shirt and heels that just feels like playing dress up again.  Because this statement necklace can go so glam, I actually prefer pairing it with casual looks like this one.  I got this white skort from Zara a year ago and I still wear it so often.  The unique cut of it makes it feel so modern and the skort element makes it comfortable enough for day or night.

Red has found a way into my wardrobe more frequently lately.  While I love to play with mixing colors and patterns, going monochromatic can also have a dramatic effect. This darling Bar III romper (similar here at Topshop) matches the hue of my Zara heels to a tee.  I added pops of color with turquoise Kendra Scott jewels.  I’m a huge fan of monograms, so I was so excited about this little leather pouch from Gigi New York.  There’s nothing like getting a fresh self-mani, and Essie is my go-to.  Most of their polishes only need 1 -2 coats and I love that they paint on in the exact color you’re expecting.  Their Mint Candy Apple (seen on my fingers) is the perfect mint green and Lapis of Luxury (seen on my toes) is just the right mix of purple and blue.

I guess you could say I haven’t lost touch with my inner-child.  From playing dress up to my love for Disney, there are a few things that just have’t changed since I was five.  Like many nineties children, Lion King was one of my favorite movies growing up, so when I found this sweater online at Forever 21, I couldn’t pass it up.  I love that the kitschy and playful is currently being embraced in fashion, and thought these vintage style Derek Cardigan glasses were appropriate for this look.
